According to a rumor on Famiboards, a popular forum for Nintendo users and has a lot of individuals from various spaces, there could be speculation that the next title that Nintendo is looking to remaster from their archives is one that recently had a sequel on the Nintendo Switch, but the original could also be remastered for the console too – Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remaster could be coming on the Nintendo Switch.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remaster – A Dream Come True?

Famiboards user PikminSnezkov, made a post on the site detailing how according to their sources, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is indeed the next title getting a remaster for the Nintendo Switch. They shared this information with two other reliable sources, and while details are scarce regarding the release date, or whether this is an improvement of the original title versus a remake is not yet fully known.

In 2020, Nintendo did release a new entry to the series, in the form of Paper Mario: The Origami King. After that, the series has not had any news of new titles for the console yet.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the second entry in the Paper Mario series, released back in 2004 for the GameCube, and is truly a much-beloved entry by fans, which will easily have a strong reception should the rumors be true.
