Resident Evil Village, better known as Resident Evil 8 in the gaming community is currently known to be a next-generation exclusive title. However, everyone’s favorite Resident Evil leaker, Dusk Golem who has a meticulous track record when it comes to Resident Evil has stated that Resident Evil Village will also make its way to the PS4 and Xbox One.

Resident Evil Village for PS4 and Xbox One – the nightmare continues

Resident Evil Village is a game that continues the dark and gritty atmosphere set by Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Introducing a brand new protagonist to the series, Ethan Winters is back in Village and this time is once again wrapped up in another sinister plot.

Resident Evil Village recently got a brand new trailer at the PlayStation 5 Showcase, and what we saw was absolutely amazing, and gave us confidence in the dark theme and nature of the game being a staple.

If you’re among the crowd that is holding off on joining the PS5 and Xbox Series X bandwagon, you may not need to worry about missing out on Village.

According to Dusk Golem, Resident Evil Village is set for a release date for the first quarter of 2021 and will come on the current-generation and next-generation consoles.

Considering how fluid and versatile the RE Engine is, I imagine it is within the realm of possibility.

Admittedly, there will be significant differences between the two versions, perhaps the current-generation version being capped at 30FPS with the next-generation version being capped at 60FPS. Similar to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s approach to releasing on the PS3/PS4, Xbox 360/Xbox One.

With Tokyo Game Show a week away, we already know the game will have a half hour show case, so we can expect more details then.

As more news about the title continues to loom, fans are definitely clamouring for more fresh news on the game.

Considering how active Capcom is working on releasing Resident Evil games on an annual basis, we can hope that the 2021 release date stays on track.
