September 2021 Nintendo Direct Could Be Happening Soon

2021 has been a great year for Nintendo, and there were plenty of first and third-party releases. Bowser’s Fury was a great way to expand Super Mario 3D World, and everyone is dying to play Metroid Dread. Nintendo Directs are the new format of Nintendo to showcase various titles coming to the Switch. Now, it seems that the September 2021 Nintendo Direct could be happening soon.

September 2021 Nintendo Direct Soon?

Now, this is still a rumor, as Nintendo hasn’t announced any date yet, but Reddit user u/Animegamingnerd has made some interesting observations related to Monolithsoft’s website. Here are a few things they noticed.

  • The site has a scheduled maintenance between 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM PST which is on the 7th of US time
  • This is a Tuesday, which is usually when Nintendo Directs take place
  • Lastly, Monolithsoft’s site hasn’t exactly been down for maintenance before, and this is a first

Now, if you’re unaware, Monolithsoft has been responsible for the Xenoblade series, which have primarily been released on Nintendo consoles. There have been multiple rumors that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be announced soon, and this might be the Direct where they announce it.

For now, take this with a grain of salt, despite the multiple coincidences. Usually, Nintendo announces the Direct dates a day or two before the actual event, so we might be getting an official announcement soon if this is true.

The Switch has both Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. We are excited to see what the developers have planned next for the critically acclaimed franchise.

We will likely see other third-party games on the Direct as well, including indie titles.
