Sons of the Forest is an upcoming long-awaited sequel to the hit survival game from EndNight Games, The Forest. With just a few weeks from its launch, we’re finally getting an even closer look at its various mechanics and system, as well as technical details. Here are the official Sons of the Forest System Requirements, as revealed on Steam.

It’s been a while since The Forest came out, so it was expected that we’d see a big jump. If you’ve seen any recent footage of Sons of the Forest, you’ll know it’s a technically impressive title. As such, if you’re looking to play the game at higher settings, you’ll need something like a GTX 1080Ti, paired with a Ryzen 5 3600X. Neither of these are super high-end pieces of hardware, but it’s a big step up from the previous title and compared to other survival games on the market.
This is still a Unity engine title, so it’s pretty nice to see what they’re pulling off. Apart from that, you need a total of just 20 GB to install the game, and an SSD is preferred. Like many other modern PC titles, 16 GB of RAM is recommended.
We’re hoping this is optimized well, and on the minimum side of the requirements, the developers have even listed an RX 570 with just 4 GB of VRAM, so there are likely tons of options to customize.
