The Ramp is an upcoming skateboarding title from the co-creator of Islanders, and Superflight. It takes a minimalist approach to the gameplay design, giving players their personal skateboarding ramp to pull awesome moves on. The game is slated to come out next month on PC, and here is everything you need to know about it.

Check out the release date trailer for the title. Make sure you hear it with sound on, as it features some crisp sound effects and a chilled-out soundtrack.

Islanders and Superflight co-creator Paul Schnepf has launched their studio Hyperparadise, and this is the first title from the studio. The Ramp is making its way to PC next month on August 3rd, 2021.

It doesn’t feature any unlockables, collectibles and there isn’t a scoring system either. The developer wants to remove all the fluff and keep the game as close to the core design of skateboarding as possible.

‘I always wished a game like this existed….Then I realized I could just make it myself. Being a game developer kind of rules.’

There are four wildly different levels, ranging from a simple halfpipe to a multi-story jump ramp. The game looks like something you can spend some time in, but it might take a lot more to master it. Given how there aren’t any unlockable skills, everything you do has to be learned by you and will be available from the start. The developer has described it as a “digital toy”, and it certainly gives the impression of that.
