Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell is one of the biggest names in stealth video games, and it’s been years since the franchise’s last game was released. Many rumors are circulating about a possible new Splinter Cell game releasing very soon. Fans are indeed expecting a release from Ubisoft, and recently, the company has filed a trademark for the stealth video game earlier this month.

Justia Trademarks is a free website for finding a trademark by category, filing date, or company name. And according to the website, there is a recent filing by Ubisoft for the Splinter Cell franchise. The trademark was filed on December 6, 2021, and currently has a status of “630 – New Application – Record Initialized Not Assigned To Examiner”
The trademark was filed under classification number 41, the section for entertainment services. Here is are several lines from the description of the trademark:
“Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game for others over global and local area computer networks; Entertainment services, namely, continuing television programs and interactive television programs featuring comedy, drama, live-action, and animation, broadcast over television, satellite, audio, and video media….”
Other Possibilities Of The Splinter Cell Trademark
There are a lot of possible reasons for the filing of this trademark. There is a previous rumor covered by this website that another Splinter Cell game is in the works. And on top of that, there are other confirmed projects that Ubisoft is currently working on for the franchise, like the upcoming Splinter Cell Netflix series and VR game.
Keep in mind that Ubisoft hasn’t made official announcements about the game, and all of the projects mentioned above fall into the entertainment category.
