The Uchigatana in Elden Ring is an iconic Fromsoft weapon. Keeping up traditions, you can find the classic Katana extremely early-on to add a bit of Blood Loss flair to your build. As one of Elden Ring’s best Dex weapons, this guide will show you where to find the Uchigatana!

However, getting the Uchigatana is easier said than done. The Katana is so cleverly hidden away that even the most curious players miss it. So, read on to add this precious blade to your arsenal.

Samurai Starting Class

The Uchigatana is also simple enough to have become a starter weapon for the Samurai Class. Despite that, it’s one the best starting weapons in the game, and if you want to win the day as a Dex player, and especially in the early-game, I highly recommend taking this class.

Fortunately, this won’t prevent you from acquiring another one in-game, allowing you to dual-wield the weapon in a single playthrough. Not only will you get to stack Bleed more efficiently, but you’ll also flaunt your blades on PVP opponents.

Deathtouched Catacombs

Regardless of taking the Samurai Class in Elden Ring, everyone can find the Uchigatana in the Deathtouched Catacombs. Once you get Torrent, it hardly takes a few minutes to get there. First, you must cross the Stormgate north of the Gatefront Site of Grace. You’ll reach the Stormhill Shack Site of Grace shortly after, and it gives a breather from the gruelling Stormgate.

East of the Stormhill Shack is a path that leads to an enemy camp. Just beyond it will be a statue pointing at the Deathtouched Catacombs. If you take the nearby rocky slope on your left, you’ll eventually reach it. Plus, there will be a ghost near the door of the dungeon.

Once you’re inside, it’s the same dungeon drill. So, reach the end of the dungeon and lower the lever to unlock the Boss room. But, only the lever here also opens a hidden path in the small recess next to the stairs.

You must’ve also noticed a cut-off platform with Skeletons and some shiny loot before the room with the level. That’s the Uchigatana lying on a corpse; the newly opened path leads exactly to it. All that’s left for you to do is to pick it up and use it to give the Black Knife Assassin a nice beating.

Uchigatana Stats

The Uchigatana needs 11 Str and 15 Dex to properly equip it. Its main highlight is the innate bleed build-up that helps in decimating enemies. Plus, it comes with an amazing weapon skill in Unsheathe that. Luckily, it also supports different Ashes of Wars, making it quite versatile.

Powerstancing also makes a return for Elden Ring, and with two Uchigatanas, you can double the damage and proc blood loss twice as fast. All in all, the Uchigatana is a fantastic Dex weapon that will carry you throughout your journey.

Final Thoughts

The Uchigatana is a classic weapon available extremely early, but getting it is always challenging. In Elden Ring, it’s hidden in the Deathtouched Catacombs, and hopefully, you won’t have any problem finding it after giving this guide a read, helping you find out the Elden Ring Uchigatana location.
