The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has just been announced for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, CD Projekt Red is already generously giving current-generation pre-orders Cyberpunk 2077 a free next-gen upgrade, and they’re now extending their offer to one of their most successful titles yet.

The Witcher 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series X is official

The Witcher 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series X is something fans would not have expected, but CD Projekt Red is full of surprises.

In a surprise tweet and a brief blog post, the company took the time to announce that The Witcher 3 is coming to the PS5 and the Xbox Series X with a few improvements.

Bringing RayTracing (RTX), and faster load times, and also improving the visual appearance of the game, something which will definitely be even more impressive.

In addition, the game will also get an HDR upgrade on the PC.

The Witcher 3 is easily one of this generations greatest release titles. The game was a prime example of showing the prowess of the current-generation consoles.

While the game did have a rocky start with a lot of glitches and bugs which have been resolved very swiftly, the load times are still the biggest complaint of the game.

However, one of the main features of the next-generation consoles is going to be their ability to significantly reduce load times in games.

CD Projekt Red hasn’t yet outlined what release date or window the re-release will take place, but they also confirmed that this isn’t a remake, its simply a semi-remaster.

Remaking the entire game for the next-gen would be a herculean task, which of course would also be a poor use of company time as the game still has immaculate visuals.

With Cyberpunk 2077 dead set on releasing on November 19th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, we still don’t know when the PS5 and Xbox Series X version will be available. at the same time as both consoles are expected to launch in November, but will the game be ready to go with it?
