Games have always relied on an element of mechanical skill and strategy. Competitive games, in particular, try to be as analytical as possible, with luck almost removed from the equation. But not every game needs to be even for it to be fun.

Because of this, we’ve chosen five of the best luck-based games, spanning from ones that provide almost no player agency to ones that are still contingent on luck, but can also let you turn the tides with a little bit of skill.

1

Rainbow Riches Online Slot

Rainbow Riches Online Slot

Our favorite game on this entire list is 32Red Rainbow Riches. With an Irish theme, you are greeted by a leprechaun, the game’s mascot. Your primary goal is to reach the end of the rainbow with a jackpot of gold that multiplies your wager by 500x.

Like most slot games, Rainbow Riches is luck-based. It ranks so high on this list because of the high multiples and a return-to-player chance of 95%, which means that you can genuinely rack up a decent profit after playing It.

2

Ludo Star

Ludo Star

A game played quite religiously in Southeast Asia; Ludo Star is based on the classic game Ludo. Almost completely devoid of any real strategy, Ludo has you move your pieces to the end of the board, where a dice roll controls your fate as you try to avoid other players landing on your square.

While you do have control of what piece you move, it ultimately all depends on the dice. The game features some nifty tricks, such as being able to re-roll for a certain number of gems as well. There are a lot of tournaments, and Ludo Star has turned into a social hub for bored players who want to play a luck-based game without much of the challenge.

3

Bingo

Bingo

Another game where player agency holds almost no role. Completely based on luck, a random choice of numbers dictates whether you achieve Bingo on your specific combination of slots on your board. All other players compete against you, with the winner crowned as the one who gets Bingo first.

There is absolutely no element of strategy involved in the premise of the game. It is all based on luck, and you can’t really change your odds or alter anyone else’s in any way.

4

Roulette

Roulette

Pick a number, and watch the wheel go. Roulette is another luck-based game that allows you to wager and win with multiple different games depending on your choice. The game has no skill-based element involved; after you pick a number, it is up to fate to decide whether you get it or not.

The only skill-based element in this game, arguably is the ability for you to choose the amount you’d like to wager on a particular number.

5

Poker

Poker

Any variant of Poker, like Texas Hold’em or just regular Poker, has a large variety of luck involved. However, it does allow you, the player, to make decisions throughout a round. From being able to fold, call, and raise to deciding whether your cards are worth their salt, strategy and card reading are pivotal parts of a Poker game.

So, while it is generally considered a luck-dependent game, there is a chance for you to tip the odds in your favor if you play your cards (pun intended) just right.
