Minecraft’s modding community is massive. There are over 100,000 mods on CurseForge, not to mention other sites that feature exclusive mods.

If you’re new to modding, selecting the best mods for your gameplay can be daunting. An easier route for this is to use modpacks, which are collections of compatible mods bundled together.

1

All the Mods 9

Like other versions of All the Mods series, All the Mods 9 features a comprehensive and expansive collection of mods. This 9th iteration offers a broad spectrum of new content, optimizations, and enhancements.

All the Mods 9 integrates several mods, ensuring 100% compatibility and a cohesive gameplay experience.

What’s great about this mod is the surprise factor. You can explore new biomes, encounter unique mobs, and experiment with advanced crafting techniques.

The only downside is that it requires a robust system for optimal performance. With dozens of mods combined together, it can require a lot of resources from your computer to run properly.

Pixelmon

Pixelmon

Described as Minecraft meets Pokemon, this modpack is for all fans of both games! Pixelmon adds a variety of Pokemon to the game for you, the player, to catch. However, the pack doesn’t end there. It also includes adventure aspects like Biomes O’Plenty, Journey mod, Explorers Compass, and more!

The best part about this modpack is the vast amount of Minecraft servers available! So form teams and play with your friends in a world of Pokemon. Catch, train and breed different Pokemon types and become one of the best trainers among friends!

3

RLCraft

Best Modpacks for Minecraft - RLCraft

RLCraft is one of the most well-known modpacks. It’s been played by various famous YouTubers like Dream and PewDiePie. However, it’s most widely known for being one of the most brutal modpacks.

First, survival mode has been tweaked, as you’ll now have to keep yourself hydrated and regulate your body temperature. Additionally, food is no longer your only lifeline as eating won’t heal you. And if that wasn’t hard enough, this modpack comes with formidable enemies, like aggressive dragons from Ice & Fire, new demons, monsters, and so much more.

So if you’re looking for a new challenge, this modpack will push you to your limits.

DawnCraft

Another notable feature of DawnCraft is the integration of the Epic Fight Mod.

Early versions of DawnCraft suffered from balancing and quest rewards issues, but developers have already addressed them.

5

BetterMC

BeterMC is a great Vanilla+ modpack that enhances your Minecraft experience with over 200 mods. It features a completely overhauled world generation, including Biomes O’ Plenty and new structures, offering a fresh experience of vanilla Minecraft.

What caught my attention was the support for virtual reality and the hundreds of new dungeons and structures.

If you want to have fun, you can ride dragons on BetterMC, allowing you to channel your inner Targaryen.

BetterMC also offers quality-of-life features like Waystones and XP Tomes.

The modpack continuously receives updates and promises new content and fixes in the future. This makes it an exciting and engaging experience for Minecraft players.

Here’s a feature-packed modpack that offers a rich blend of exploration, magic, combat, and technology.

Built on Fabric, it offers a distinct tech mod experience than Forge packs. It includes shader support via sodium and iris, with pre-installed options like Complementary Reimagined.

Prominence II also has a quest system with an engaging storyline that offers new chapters every month. You can also visit distant planets on this modpack, discover 1000+ structures, and explore nine new dimensions.

Despite having 300+ mods, Prominence II is well-optimized, promising great performance even for mid-tier systems. However, you need at least 4GB of RAM to enjoy the modpack without issues.

Vault Hunters

Here’s another RPG-based modpack that focuses on the mysteries and dangers surrounding The Vault dimension. The modpack features dozens of Vault Hunters-specific items and mobs, like weapons, armor, totems, bosses, and even currency.

Being able to develop my own talents and abilities while trying to collect all artifacts for the final challenge elevated my entire experience with this modpack.

If that’s not enough, Vault Hunters is now compatible with version 1.18 and supports sky block playthroughs called Sky Vaults.

Here’s another fantasy x machinery blended mod! It’s similar to the others on this list yet unique in its own way. Adventure awaits as you go through magic, science, combat, automation, and exploration into one giant melting pot.

Some features include Tinkers Construct, over 750 quests, design factories, start your own town with citizens and workers and even enjoy the in-game economy system! Not to mention the GUI shop where you can buy useful or prank items. It’s everything, but the kitchen-sink modpack definitely belongs on this list of the best Minecraft modpacks.

StoneBlock

Who needs sunlight anyway? Based on the insanely popular SkyBlock challenge, this modpack takes place underground, where players are entirely surrounded by stone. Start off small and slowly build your underground base as you explore outwards and discover unique underground biomes. There are scripted events and challenges around every corner, so remember to stay on your toes.

This isn’t a lightweight pack, so you’ll need at least 5-6 GB of RAM allocated and a good CPU.

Note that this modpack has a newer version that is run by FeedTheBeast. StoneBlock 3 can be found here.

Mineshafts & Monsters is one of the best RPG Minecraft modpacks on CurseForge. You’ll explore never-before-seen places and fight various monsters while following a well-thought-out storyline.

With the same goal as Vanilla Minecraft (to defeat the Ender Dragon), Mineshafts & Monsters adds a twist that gives the player a different experience. You’ll need to build the villagers’ trust when you first spawn in the world. Once you’ve become acquainted with your new townies, you’ll unlock bigger and better gear. Then, once you build your village into a colony, you can venture out and defeat the notorious Ender Dragon.

For those with lower-end PCs, you can install the Lite Version.

How to Install Modpacks Using CurseForge?

Installing Modpacks is pretty easy. All you need to do is follow the three-step process, and you’ll be playing them in no time! But before you do, make sure you have CurseForge installed.

Step #1 – Find Your Modpack & Press “Install”

First, you have to find your desired modpack. To find yours, go to the curseforge website. That is the most extensive mod and modpack library out there. For this example, I’ll be installing Mineshafts & Monsters.

Once you’ve picked your modpack, the page should look like this. Then go to the upper right corner, where you’ll see an orange button named “Install.” Click it and go to the next step.

Step #2 – Downloading & Installing Your Modpack

Now, you should be greeted with the page on the left. Once there, your browser asks to launch CurseForge. Allow it to do that, and you’re basically done! Now all you’ve to do is wait until everything is downloaded and installed.

Step #3 – Start Playing

Once everything has been downloaded, you should see an orange button named “Play” appear when you hover your cursor on the modpack. Click that button, and Minecraft will be launched! Now you can start playing the game.

However, before we go to the list, I want to tell you one more thing. Your game might load a bit slower and freeze a few times. That’s entirely normal, even if it takes a few minutes to load. For example, it took me four minutes to load Mineshafts & Monsters.
