The second character release in the 3.0 update is Collei. In this build guide, we will be discussing Collei’s Ascension and Talent materials/costs, Talents, Constellations, Artifacts, Weapons, and Teams. Although, since the character is new and travelers are keen to learn about her, we will begin with a brief introduction.

Collei was released alongside Tighnari in the banner “Viridescent Vigil”. She is also available in Zhongli‘s banner, “Gentry of Hermitage”. Players can also get Collei for free by taking part in the new limited-time event “Graven Innocence”. Collei is a 4-star Dendro Bow user who is good at off-field Dendro application. Although her kit may not have the best multipliers, she can effectively enable the rest of her teammates to do some serious DMG, making use of the new Dendro Reactions.

Overview

Collei‘s kit is pretty easy to understand and manage in a build, her Normal and Charged attacks deal low physical DMG. Her skill hits the enemies twice with respectable scaling and her burst deals DMG to opponents present over time, applying Dendro.

Collei’s Passive talents aid her skill and burst by doing some extra DMG. Moreover, her presence in the party also allows the player to have reduced gliding stamina consumption.

While we encourage the player to choose based on their preferences, we highly recommend using Collei as a Support character for Dendro reactions.

Collei’s Ascension and Talent Costs / Mats

Leveling up Collei can increase the effectiveness of her build. Each Ascension gives Collei a boost in ATK %. Here are the materials required to upgrade Collei past certain milestones:

Collei’s Ascension Costs

Collei needs a healthy supply of Nagadus Emeralds to get her all the way to level 90. Along with a few Rukkhashava Mushrooms and a few days worth of resin spent on farming Majestic Hooked Beak by fighting the Jadeplume Terrorshoom. Furthermore, a few hilichurl tribes made extinct to gather enough Arrowheads is all it takes to raise Collei!

Collei’s Talents

Apart from dealing decent amounts of Dendro DMG herself, Collei‘s talents specialize in enabling Dendro reactions for your team. Her passives aid in this regard, and like Amber, Collei also reduces your team’s gliding stamina consumption.

Collei’s Passive Talents

Floral Sidewinder

If one of your party members has triggered Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions before the Floral Ring returns, it will grant the character the Sprout effect upon return, which will continuously deal Dendro DMG equivalent to 40% of Collei’s ATK to nearby opponents for 3s.
If another Sprout effect is triggered during its initial duration, the initial effect will be removed. DMG dealt by Sprout is considered Elemental Skill DMG.

Sprout can be compared with Kuki Shinobu‘s burst with respect to how it deals DMG visually. The effect itself last’s 3 seconds and attacks once per 1.5s.

The Languid Wood

When a character within the Cuilein-Anbar Zone triggers Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions, the Zone’s duration will be increased by 1s.
A single Trump-Card Kitty can be extended by up to 3s.

Although we will discuss her Burst in detail soon, note that her burst has 12 instances of DMG after the initial hit. This passive increases that number up to 18 instances of Dendro DMG.

Gliding Champion of Sumeru

Decreases gliding Stamina consumption for your own party by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

Like Amber.

Collei has a 4 attack sequence. With a Dendro infused charged shot if you hold down right click or press R.

Collei’s Elemental Skill

Floral Brush

Floral Brush
Floral Brush

Collei throws a boomerang projectile at her enemies, thwacking them twice, and applying Dendro twice. This… thwack, (her words not mine) hits the opponents once on launch and when returning. This ability can deal a respectable amount of Dendro DMG, especially when Quickened, which we will discuss in the Teams section. We recommend upgrading this abiility to maximise the DMG output of your Collei’s build!

Collei’s Elemental Burst

Trump-Card Kitty

Cuilein-Anbar (footage sped-up)

Throws a doll named Cuilein- Anbar that explodes on impact, dealing Dendro DMG and creating a Cuilein-Anbar Zone. This deals periodic Dendro DMG over 6 seconds, however, this can be extended to 9 seconds with aid from her passive “The Languid Wood”.

We recommend upgrading this talent first if you’re going for a Support build on Collei.

Collei’s Constellations

A brief note is necessary here… Please do not feel forced to roll for a character’s constellations. They are nice to have and can boost the effectiveness of a character but aren’t worth spending real-world currency on unless you have a large reserve of expendable income.

Collei‘s constellations are nice to have but offer no serious DMG upgrades. They are, however, able to increase your teams DMG output by buffing stats like EM or ER.

Constellation Lv.1

Deepwood Patrol

Collei c1
c1

This constellation is good for quality of life, with the proper build for Collei, you should be able to make use of her burst more frequently. This constellation effects can be compared to Xiao‘s C2.

Constellation Lv.2

Through Hill and Copse

Collei c2
c2

This is a strange one, before you needed to perform a reaction for the Sprout effect to take place, now it happens automatically, and, only after the projectile has returned to Collei. The reaction mechanic has been extended to Sprout, increasing its duration by 3 seconds for some extra DMG. Effectively doubling Sprouts DMG.

Constellation Lv.3 + Lv.5

Scent of Summer + All Embers

Collei c3 and c5

These two constellations buff the Skill and Burst talent level of every character in the Genshin world.

Constellation Lv.4

Gift of the Woods

Collei c4
c4

Good for supporting characters like Tighnari and Kazuha who rely on EM for increased DMG output or kit efffectiveness.

Constellation Lv.6

Forest of Falling Arrows

Collei C6

This Constellation provides an extra instance of Dendro DMG towards enemies when you use your Skill.

Collei’s Best Artifact Sets

We recommend the Deepwood Memories set for Collei above others. However, we understand that players may not have good pieces so an alternative would be the Emblem of Severed Fate which has been around for some time now.

Deepwood Memories

Deepwood Memories

This set will enable Collei to do 15% more Dendro DMG, but more importantly, it will enable other DPS Dendro characters like the Traveler or Tighnari to shine in their DPS roles.

This set empowers her burst greatly, providing more frequent uses thanks to 20% increased ER and also increased DMG thanks to the 4-piece bonus. If you wish to make use of this set, try to stack atleast 200% ER on her to make her DMG worthwhile.

Plus, if Collei is the only Dendro character on your team, then this set may be your best option

Collei’s Best Stats on Artifact Sets

Of course, if you want to build Collei to play a DPS role in your teams. An ATK % sands is your go-to piece. For a support build, we recommend Energy Recharge on her sands. The exact value of ER depends on your Team comps, for example, if Collei is the only Dendro character in your team, then around 200 ER % is considered safe. However, if you have other characters like Traveller or Tighnari, then you’re safe at around 160% ER.

Not surprisingly, an Elemental Mastery sands may also be a good choice for DPS Collei, giving her a boost in Quicken and Spread DMG.

Her circlet slot can be equipped with CRIT Rate/DMG (making sure that the overall respective ratio between the two factors is 1:2)

Collei’s Best Weapons

Elegy for the End

Elegy for the End

The description was too long to include, so a summary is due. Equipping this weapon increases the characters Elemental Mastery by 60. When the characters skills and bursts hit opponents, the characters Elemental Mastery is further increased by 100 and their ATK by 20%.

This bow is incredible for any supportive build, the increased ER should allow Collei to reach the recommended ER thresholds easily. As a plus, her reaction-based and normal ATK DMG will gain a huge bonus thanks to the massive base ATK, not to mention the 20% ATK buff.

DMG Collei Build Weapons

PolarStar
Polar Star

If you want to maximise Collei‘s DMG output, Polar Star is your best bet. The “Equipped: Tartaglia” text is us insisting to not use this bow on Collei if Tartaglia is in your team.

Ofcourse other options include weapons like the Aqua Simulacra bow if you want to focus on Collei‘s CRIT DMG output.

Favonius Warbow

Favonius Warbow
Favonius Warbow

In the Artifacts section, we showcased one of the scenarios where you might consider using the Emblem set, this drives that point home. To reach the recommended ER value, this bow is excellent for any bow user who relies on their burst for support roles. However, we recommend stacking at least 50% CRIT Rate on Collei to consistently proc the weapon’s passive.

Sacrificial Bow

Sacrificial Bow
Sacrificial Bow

This is also a fun weapon to use, its passive allows the characters equipping this weapon to use their Skill twice, which is a pretty good deal for Floral Brush. However, we recommend using a highly refined version of this weapon to proc the passive consistently.

Collei’s Best Teams

And finally, we get to Collei‘s teams.

Collei‘s teams will mostly rely on her off-field Dendro application. Using this application to proc certain reactions will be crucial to your team’s DMG.

Quicken Teams

Collei can provide buffs to Electro characters in her team, units like Beidou, Keqing, Fischl, and Raiden Shogun can all be worthy teammates.

Also, you can make use of Lisa to reduce opponents’ DEF and replace Kazuha with Tighnari for a Dendro focused team.

Bloom Teams

Fischl, Collei, Kokomi, TIghnari

It is important to note that your Bloom DMG will depend on the character that triggers the reaction and their Elemental Mastery. Generally, we recommend using Hydro characters like Kokomi or Childe to trigger Bloom reactions since applying Hydro keeps the existing Dendro effect/aura on the enemy and NOT vice versa. This can allow for further Bloom reactions on your enemy.

Conclusion

We hope that you found this article informative enough to build Collei! Please leave your thoughts and suggestions in the comments, have a great day! Be sure to check out our codes page to get some extra primogems, who knows, you might end up rolling the green outrider.
